It might also be that her father is out looking for Lydia and her mother is in her own room, like in the book, and Lizzie has the living room to herself.

Could also be that Lizzies dad is too busy trying to figure out how to fix the situation and Lizzies mum is retired in her bedroom due to her poor nerves?

Maybe her mother’s nerves drove her away from her bedroom? Too loud for filming maybe. Although the thought of getting random wailing from down the hall during a video is kind of hilarious.
