I’m so obsessed with Mad Men’s costuming. Not just that the clothes are fun to look at (though I do love looking at them!), but that there is so much thought put into each outfit. I was re-watching episode 11 from this season and these two blue and white striped costumes perfectly illustrate what I love about the show. They’re not in the same scene or location, but the two short scenes happen in sequence. Both characters are surrounded by warm red and gold tones and their clothing ties them to each other, presumably to subtlety remind viewers that Peggy has a son out there somewhere who is about his age. (Or for crack theorists out there, that this actually is Peggy’s son who ended up being adopted by the Chaoughs.)
